  18. 1) Internet Resource Guide .ps entries now have "cut-lines"
  19.  
  20. This message is being sent to both the PostScript and Plain Text
  21. mailing lists.  We have made a change in the way that we send out
  22. PostScript files.
  23.  
  24. The current distribution of Internet Resource Guide entries brought
  25. complaints by a few users who had trouble printing the PostScript
  26. (.ps) entries.  We quickly changed our format to include a "cut-here"
  27. line for section2-2.ps, and promptly got another complaint that we
  28. broke an automatic program for printing the PostScript entries.
  29.  
  30. The line is:
  31.  
  32. --------Cut-Here----The-first-line-of-your-file-must-be-%!PS-Adobe-1.0--------
  33.  
  34. When you receive a PostScript entry, you must remove this line and
  35. everthing that precedes it in the file.  Otherwise, your printer will
  36. print the PostScript file as a series of PostScript commands rather
  37. than formatted printing.

  39. The first line of the PostScript file must be:
  40.  
  41. %!PS-Adobe-1.0
  42.  
  43.  
  44. 2) Update news.
  45.  
  46.   o  We are pleased to report that since we began our update campaign,
  47.      in June 1992, we have received updates for 75 of the 113 entries
  48.      in the Resource Guide, most of them recent.  Twenty-seven updates
  49.      have been distributed to the resource-guide mailing lists, and
  50.      the other 48 are in the pipeline.

  52.   o  We have also received four new entries, as well as many
  53.      suggestions for entries and requests for templates.  To order a
  54.      template, send a message to info-server@nnsc.nsf.net, and place
  55.      the following text in the body of the message:

  59.     request: end
  60.  
  61.   o  We have shortened Subject field of our "announcement" messages by
  62.      substituting "AN-92:3" in place of "ANNOUNCEMENT 92-3".
